At least in Eyes of Shadow Game there is some explanation: you're in a the house of horrors to collect money. Hard cash. And who wouldn’t risk their life for a fistful of dollars?

Thus, the gameplay of Eyes of Shadow - Nightmare game has you traveling around a strange house to find 6, 12, 20, or 30 bags of cash (depending on the difficulty level you choose). The issue is that the house is guarded by a ghost Krasue who doesn’t want you to leave alive.

The ghost leaves you clues, red eyes painted on the walls . If you see one of these, get out. Hear strange cries? Stay away as far away as possible, the traumatized specter is nearby. Do you see a sign that says "RUN!" ? Then make like Usain Bolt: your enemy is very close.

Soul Eyes Demon: Horror Skulls - Scary Thriller is a simple game mechanic in which you simply have to move around the house and use one button to pick up bags of cash (they glow in the dark, so they're easy to spot).

Your survival depends on following the good signs and avoiding the bad as you dash from room to room: only a ghost can move through the halls (except for the most difficult level...anything goes).

Play your cards right and eyesore - a horror game can be a very good terror experience. The combination of light and shadow, a crazy rush from one room to another, is a good choice for this genre. In addition, the jump scares are not so plentiful that when you reach, when you hit you will find yourself jumping out of your seat.

The ghost itself is lifted straight from Japanese horror movies: it's a woman (or part of it), with dark hair and sore eyes. Nothing new, but I find this human form more terrifying than any beast.
